David grew up in Gates, New York, and graduated from Spencerport Central High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a helicopter mechanic from 1980 to 1983. Following his enlistment, he transitioned to the U.S. Army Reserves in Syracuse, New York, serving as a crew chief. After completing Army rotary wing flight training in 1986, he was appointed as a Warrant Officer and Army pilot. While serving in the Reserves, David began his studies at Monroe Community College and then was accepted to SUNY Brockport, graduating with a BS in business and economics. David sought a change, accepted an Interservice transfer and served four years with U.S. Marine Corps as a commissioned officer and fixed-wing transport pilot, before moving back to Rochester where he and his wife started their family.

David began his career in the financial services industry in 1996 as a financial advisor at Ameriprise (formerly IDS/American Express Financial Services). Ameriprise is known in the industry for its outstanding professional training program.

David earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner designation in 2002. He is an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations. In New York, he holds health and variable life and annuity insurance licenses, and he is licensed in many other states as well.

David lives in West Irondequoit with his wife, Ann Marie. They have two children, Alan and Emma, who are both currently attending college. Ann Marie is a third-grade teacher at Greece Christian School and loves her role in shaping young minds.

Since 2008, David has led a financial literacy class at his church, which provides a platform to use his financial planning skills to help others. David enjoys traveling, cooking, cars, and reading. He is also a performance driving instructor with the BMW Genesee Valley Chapter and races in the Champ Car Series. David and Ann Marie are both active in their church and community.
